Dr. Dao is very professional young specialist who is basically a magician. He is traveling around the world to learn more about his field of expertise.
Always has the latest technology and his primary focus is to save your natural teeth instead of selling crowns and implants. I always had problematic teeth and have a lot of experience with dentists in Europe and US. Stephen is hands down the best specialist who is so far ahead of all of the other dentists I worked with. Coming to the office, I was immediately greeted by the front desk reception. The staff and vibe of this practice is incredibly warm and welcoming as well.
Dr. Dao and his team treats patients with utmost respect and dignity. They definitely feel more like friends than just coworkers alone, and it's contagious to chat with them.

Let me start this review by saying, **I FLY ACCROSS THE COUNTRY** just to visit Dr. Stephen Dao. Yes, you read that correctly. You may me thinking "wait....who does that?" It sounds crazy right? Well, I DO and here is why:
FINALLY a dentist I can trust 110%!!! Let's be honest... dentist is one of the most frightening places to be. Who goes in with a smile to a dentist and come out with a bigger smile?? Well... ME!! Dr. Stephen Dao changed that dentist fear for me altogether.
Long story short, I've had numerous terrrrible experiences (including overcharging and many more returning visits for the same issue) at other dentists who were doing unethical jobs. Yes, my wallet hurt more than the procedure itself.
I can't help but to rave about Dr. Stephen to all my family and friends so here I go:
1. He is HONEST. He will be upfront and honest about what needs immediate attention and explain thoroughly prior to any procedures.
2. He is CARING. He cares for his patients as well as his staff/colleagues. He takes care of his staff which in return, patients are well taken care of! "happy employees, happy customers!" :) You can feel the positive vibe in their teamwork within the office.
3. He is ETHICAL. He provides various option to choose from depending on your needs and what may fit your budget. He will never try to sell you to a higher priced option without providing all possible options and prices.
4. He TAKES HIS TIME WITH PATIENTS TO EXPLAIN. He will explain the procedure prior AND during the procedure to keep you informed and updated. Not only that, he will take before and after photos and take time to explain exactly what has been done.
5. He makes you feel COMFORTABLE. I mean... who falls asleep during a procedure? (ME) That's how comfortable I feel in that chair of terror!
6. He is FRIENDLY and WELCOMING!! He always has a smile on his face each time I visit making me feel so welcomed to be there. Oh, also, MILITARY families!! This is the place to go!!!!
I hope this explained all the reasons why I'd fly across the country to visit Dr. Stephen @ Coronado Family Dental. It's seriously worth it, every time. Thank you Dr. Stephen and all Staff members for all you do!!!!

Dr. Dao has been my dentist for 4 years. Most people hate going to the dentist, but the staff and Dr. Dao have made the experience as pleasurable as possible.
The office is not ritzy and doesn't have massage therapists or free wine like some other places, but I like this because I don't want to feel like I am paying for these amenities. I just want to pay for high quality dental work. The office is clean and adequate for what I needed with digital x-rays and a up-to-date computer medical record system (as a physician I really want to see that the health care provider is up to date on their technology).
I've gotten a deep cleaning, a couple of redos on some fillings that had fallen out, and, most recently, my two (non-impacted) wisdom teeth removed. Dr. Dao carefully explained everything to me and the treatment plan (bill) was clear prior to him starting any work.
His assistants are friendly and nice and I highly, highly recommend this office and Dr. Dao. Hopefully when I have to come back I won't need too much work done but I know if I do I'll be in good hands.

31 years old and can count on one hand how many times I've been to the dentist since becoming an adult. Fortunately I was able to get dental insurance through my job and decided to take advantage of it. I went to a different dentist/office and did not enjoy my experience. I was pretty embarrassed leaving and felt that the only care was for what my insurance and myself would pay out. I don't like going to the dentist because I'm pretty ashamed of my teeth. I wasn't expecting much coming to Dr. Dao. The whole appointment was amazing though. I went in for the exam, again not expecting much but I left in tears (happy tears of course). Dr. Dao really gave me the hope I never had to have a healthy smile. He gave me the option of braces vs dental implants that I could never afford to fix my missing teeth. I've always wanted braces but didn't think that was an option for me. Besides Dr. Dao his staff really made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. I booked my 2nd appointment and I can actually say I'm looking forward to it. I would DEFINITELY recommend this location for all of your dental needs. Thank you, Dr. Dao.

The best experience I've ever had at the dentist. The staff was very clear about what would happen during the visit and how much it would cost. I ended up needing a few fillings. There was absolutely no pain and during the process the doctor communicated with me the whole time so I knew what he was doing. It sounds like something small but it really made the experience a lot easier to get through. I appreciated that and I really liked that they were up front and clear about the costs.

The best Dentist you will find! I have an 8 year old son and I have been bringing him here since he was 3. He loves it and I have never had a problem. Great staff they make you feel comfortable. Overall a great place to take your kids or yourself. Front desk is very nice and answer very quickly, I’ve never had to hold any of the times I’ve called. Once you’ve arrived to your appointment, the wait is very small. Dr. Stephen is super nice and great with kids. He always wants you to have a great experience.

This is the best dental office I have been to hands down. My experience was great from beginning to end. The front desk ladies are always happy and friendly. He is very good with explaining the process is f what the treatment plan is as well as explaining everything that he may do for your minor child. I travel 20+ miles just to continue care. This dentist is simply superb. Great, great staff. Reasonable prices. Takes a variety of insurance plans. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and takes his time with you. The staff from front desk to dental hygienist is beyond reproach. Rooms are bright and. Impeccably clean. Appointment times are honored with none of the normal extended waiting for your turn. They respect your time. The whole office comes across as a happy group of amazing professionals.
What's a very nice touch is that Dr Dao contacts every patient after the visit. Amazing level of personal care. He has redefined what "total quality care" means.

Dr. Dao takes dentistry to a whole other level. His technology is amazing! You can see what he is explaining right on the screen. It helped me be more involved in the decisions. I wanted to avoid a root canal for a tooth with a deep crack, and he gave me a crown, preserving the tooth. He has all the latest gadgetry to make the process comfortable for the patient. I also asked about the color of my teeth, which were gray in places and slightly chipped. Some of the lower teeth were worn and I kept biting the inside of my mouth. He was able to fill in those worn away areas with a composite material. It was easy and painless, finished in one session. I walked out of there with an amazing smile. I would never have thought my teeth could look this good.
Dr. Dao is intelligent and passionate about teeth, and very personable. Vanessa is wonderful with scheduling and insurance. Laurie is the gentlest dental assistant I've experienced, and the two hygienists have taught me and my husband new ways to keep our teeth healthy.

I can tell you from my experience, if you become Dr. Dao’s patient, you will experience a quality and continuous care. He always explains to me the process and the options of every dental procedure before he starts any work. He listens to any concerns and answers any questions citing research and latest dentistry trends. Last year I did Invisalign through his office and straightened my teeth in about 9 months. Happy with the results now. His staff, especially Angy, is amazing, they know you by name, greet you super friendly, even greet you by name on the phone! This office is a part of a larger dentistry group but at this location there is only one doc - Dr. Stephen Dao. This is what I like there, you do not see a new doc every time. He always review your dental history, explains in details what materials he will be using and compares current state of your teeth to analyze the damage occurred over time. It is a bit of a drive for me but I would not go to any other dental office - happy with the dental care and customer service at that location.
